1,500 plastic barrels with lights were installed on the bridge to prevent falls and suicides. Since the bridge’s opening, 65 fall accidents have been recorded, with 54 resulting in deaths. Over five years, the bridge recorded 2-5 falls until it rose to 11 last year. This year marked the worst year for the bridge in fatalities, with three back to back deaths in the span of four days. This month alone, 20 suicide attempts resulted in 16 deaths.
